What this one covers

  1. 1

The one line: the most work you can lose is the raise divided by profit per unit today plus the raise. On mulch, 8% more lets you lose 1 in 5.

  2. 2

Sod pays a raise back fastest: 11% more price is 44% more gross profit, because the sod is 61% of the price and the raise never touches it.

  3. 3

The ten-bid test, and the three cases where raising the price is the wrong move: overhead, the wrong bids lost, a real going rate.

Who made this

Ledge is software for landscape design-build. These sheets are the thinking underneath it.

Every number on these sheets is the kind Ledge carries for you on a real job: the burdened hour, the man-hours a price buys, what the crew actually did against it. The first ten shops run Ledge free; we make money only on payments. If you want to see it on your own jobs, there's one person to talk to.
