What Ledge is right now
Ledge is early software run by a small company, currently offered to a founding group of ten shops. It will have bugs. When it breaks, we say so in the changelog and fix it. Don’t run your business on the assumption it can never go down — keep QuickBooks connected; your books never live only in Ledge.
The founding-cohort deal
The first ten shops pay no subscription and no per-seat fees. We make money one way: a processing fee on payments that run through Ledge, disclosed on the homepage and at checkout before any charge. If that ever changes for the founding shops, it changes with written notice and your agreement — not a quiet pricing-page edit.
Your data is yours
Everything you put into Ledge — clients, estimates, projects, invoices, photos — belongs to your shop. You can export it at any time without asking. We get the limited license we need to run the product for you, and nothing more. See the privacy policy for how we handle it.
Your account, your people
You decide who’s in your shop’s account — crew, freelance designer, outside accountant — and what they can see. You’re responsible for what people you invite do in it, and for keeping your own login to yourself. Use the product for running your business, not for anything illegal; that’s the whole acceptable-use policy.
Payments
Payments through Ledge are processed by our payment partner under their terms, which you accept when you first take a payment. The processing fee is deducted per transaction — you see it on every payout, itemized. Disputes and chargebacks between you and your client follow the card networks’ rules; we’ll give you the records to fight them.
What we don't promise
Ledge is provided as-is. We don’t warrant it’s error-free or always available, and we’re not liable for indirect damages — lost profits, lost data you didn’t export, a bid you priced wrong. Our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (for a founding shop paying no subscription, that means the processing fees). Nothing here limits what the law says can’t be limited.
Leaving
You can stop using Ledge whenever you want: export your data, disconnect QuickBooks, email us to delete the account. We can end the arrangement too — with 30 days’ notice and your export ready, except for abuse or nonpayment of processing fees, which is immediate. Nobody’s data gets held hostage in either direction.
Disagreements and changes
If something goes wrong, call Edgar first — most of this is solvable on the phone. Formally, these terms are governed by the laws of [state], and disputes go to the courts there. If we change these terms in a way that matters, you get an email and a changelog entry before it takes effect.
