Software comparison

Ledge vs Aspire

Ledge is landscape design-build software built around one project, for the owner who still prices the jobs. Aspire is landscape business management built for the enterprise. Its own site says it is designed for enterprise-level landscape businesses, and its plans are sold on a quote with implementation included. If you are past $10M with a controller and admin staff paid to keep the system fed, Aspire is the serious choice. If you are the one opening the estimate at night, Ledge is built for that.

Short answer

Pick Aspire for the enterprise. Pick Ledge for the owner who prices the jobs.

Aspire is one license fee with unlimited users, a full implementation program and modules for purchasing, inventory, equipment and payroll. That is a system for a company with a controller and an admin team. Ledge starts with the job you are quoting. The mulch quoted by the yard, priced by two vendors and bought by the bag stays one line, and the change order in week six moves the margin the same day.

Where Aspire wins

  • Depth at scale: purchasing, inventory, equipment management and inspections, budgets and KPI dashboards in one contracted system.

  • Unlimited users on one license fee, with a 1:1 implementation program, a training academy and lifetime support included.

  • An offline-capable mobile app for field crews with time and material tracking, custom forms and issue reporting.

  • Customer, subcontractor and submittals portals, and enterprise references: its site claims 800+ clients across 2,200 locations.

Where Ledge wins

  • One line holds the quoted unit, each vendor price and the purchased unit. Mulch by the yard, priced by two vendors, bought by the bag, stays one line.

  • Takeoff from the site plan straight into the estimate, and a design phase with its own board and fee, without a second product.

  • Change orders are priced like the estimate, line by line with the margin showing, before the client signs.

  • Your designer, sub, vendor and outside accountant work inside the project without a seat fee.

  • Loaded in a few weeks, not an implementation program. No subscription for the first ten landscape design-build firms. Ledge earns only when your client pays.

Questions

Questions owners ask.

Is Ledge a replacement for Aspire?

For a landscape design-build firm under $10M, yes. If you are past that with a controller, dedicated admin staff and crews across several branches, stay on Aspire. Ledge has no purchasing or equipment module, no payroll, and runs in the browser.

What does Aspire do better than Ledge?

Everything that needs an operations team. Purchasing, inventory, equipment, budgets, KPI dashboards, an offline mobile app and portals for customers and subcontractors. Aspire also includes a full implementation and training program in the fee. Ledge does none of that at enterprise depth.

What does Ledge do that Aspire does not?

Mixed units with per-vendor pricing on one line, takeoff and the design phase inside the same tool, change orders tied to margin, outside participants inside the project without a seat fee, and payments-only pricing with no subscription for the first ten firms.
